Founded and lead by Matt Fincham, our mission is to provide a differentiated, lean model featuring experienced practitioners personally supervising and executing the accounts. The team has deep expertise in communications for a variety of sectors, from financial services to healthcare, which enable us to swiftly raise clients' profiles, influence key audiences, and positively impact business.

The Finch PR team offers unrivalled media relations expertise, including the ability to engage with and achieve coverage in publications like Bloomberg, broadcast coverage on Sky, or specialist trade magazines. The team includes writers capable of producing engaging copy of the sort that pleases editors, and resonates with readers.

Matt Fincham
Founder and Director

Matt Fincham is a freelance PR consultant with over 13 years’ experience in B2B PR and corporate communications. Matt started his PR career in the army, where his duties included running a combat camera team in Iraq and conducting video interviews with Prime Ministers David Cameron and Gordon Brown.

 

Matt is a media relations expert and has worked with brands including Cobham, IBM, EE and The Countryside Alliance and technology and finance companies including blockchain and cryptocurrency specialists. He relishes the challenge of engaging directly with media, breaking through barriers to secure top Tier coverage and to match clients’ aims to journalists’ requirements for stories.

Matt has been a member of the Chartered Institute of PR since 2006 and of the Communications City Livery Company, formerly the Company of Public Relations Practitioners. He is a serving officer in the Army Reserve and currently works as a media officer for the Army Media and Communications branch, attached to Headquarters London District at HorseGuards. Matt's hobbies include fitness and horse riding. He represents the Army Reserve at polo.

Sasha Manners
Account Director

Sasha began her career at Dell then went to work for with a series of full service PR agencies, including Text 100, Weber Shandwick and BCW, with  a 10 year stint at Edelman. Her client portfolio included Intel, Microsoft IBM, HP, Orange UK, Orange Business Services, BT, Samsung, Acer, Micron and dotMobi. As a freelancer over the last six years, Sasha spent a year at consumer agency Shine before joining BCW’s Corporate Affairs practice on crisis management for Huawei. Sasha also worked client-side with the GSMA Mobile World Congress, developed positioning for the launch of Tesco Mobile’s new business services in 2020.

Kaitlin Zhang
Branding

Kaitlin Zhang is a branding consultant skilled in promoting corporate brands cross borders between China and the West and developing personal brands online. She focuses on cross-border marketing in tech, financial services and government. She has experience working with the UK Cabinet Office, O2, NatWest, Tech London Advocates and top venture capital firms in China and the US. 

 

Kaitlin is also an award-winning speaker. She hosts branding workshops in London and Shanghai in English and Mandarin.

Rebecca Spencer
Account Management

Rebecca has worked across varies sectors devising and implementing campaigns and communication strategies, working with partners and stakeholders, producing internal communication documents, writing blogs and articles, creating creative content for social media campaigns, writing annual and impact reports, organising media trips to projects. Her experience spans from Elizabeth Finn Care homes to sugar supply chain trading company Czarnikow.

Consultant

Ava started as a print journalist and moved into Marketing and PR about 20 years ago. The last eight years of her career she has been working in tech across various industries and has a passion for all things future tech, including web3 and DAOs. 
Aside from PR, Ava is an entrepreneur who has started her own biotech firm.

Nicola Brown
PR and Healthcare Specialist

A former health journalist and newspaper editor, Nicola Brown is a specialist in healthcare PR, both corporate and consumer. She has worked in private healthcare as Head of PR for the UK’s largest private hospital network, and also for the NHS as Head of Communications for NHS Trusts. She has also worked for an agency specialising in healthcare PR, during which time she worked for NHS commissioners, public health and strategic partnerships for NHS, private and charity healthcare clients.

Nicola is an elected council member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, a body of which she is also an accredited member. She is a committee member of the CIPR’s largest member group, the Greater London Group, and a former committee member of the CIPR’s East Anglia group.

Nicola is a keen collector of half marathon medals and is usually in some stage of training for her next event.

Simon Howson-Green
Broadcast and Media Training

Simon Howson-Green is a specialist in media training, crisis communications, and broadcast media placement. He is a former Head of Digital, with Sky, the UK’s leading cable and broadcast television network and spent first 25 years of his career as a journalist in newspapers, magazines, radio, television and online, including stints as a business correspondent at The Times and at Sky TV.

Sam Shelton
Investment and Financial PR

Sam is a media relations specialist with extensive experience working within the asset management/financial services industry. He has a proven track record of generating media coverage for clients in both the retail and institutional space in trade magazines and national media such as Investment Week, Citywire, The Financial Times, Reuters, Bloomberg and The New York Times to name a few.

 

Sam has helped boutique asset managers, and larger players enhance their reputation in the UK and throughout other parts of Europe. He holds the CIPR Advanced Certificate in Public Relations and the CFA Investment Foundations Certificate. He's also a professional musician with a degree in Music Production, enabling him to produce industry-standard podcasts/videos for clients.

Nicola Corns
PR and Technology Specialist

Nicola Corns is a B2B (and B2C) media relations consultant, who started her career as a journalist back in 1999, before moving into in-house crisis communications PR in 2005. Having trained as a journalist, Nicola knows what the media is looking for and how to create successful pitches and content, for securing interviews with, editorial in and profile opportunities across a wide range of corporate and consumer technology sectors. She specialises in identifying the best media to target for editorial, profiles, interviews and news placements, and securing briefings with relevant media at trade events including MWC, MWC Shanghai, Hannover Messe, SXSW, AI Summit London, Black Hat Asia, Black Hat USA and IoT Expo, to name just a few. Aside from running 3 – 5 K every day, Nicola’s other love is her four cats.
